Early writing advice
The earliest form of organization for a paper I was taught to use was the thought cloud. The main idea would be in the middle, then other little clouds would branch of to further explain the main idea. The one way that was hammered into my head was the five paragraph outline. It would have my thesis, the first line of my opening, the first lines of my next three paragraphs, then the first line for my conclusion. What I am accustomed to doing now is just to write. I fell as though I think too much if I try to outline my work. I just write with the idea I have in mind ad go back and trim what I might not like, then ad more or take off more. I can end up with an entirely new paper at times. But to just start writing helps me get all my ideas out, it helps to stop any sort of writing block.
